“Only recently have the psychological attachment patterns of children been well charted and understood. Absolutely clear is that children were meant to revolve around their parents and the other adults responsible for them, just as the planets revolve around the sun.” - Dr. G. Neufeld & G. Mate, Hold on to your kids.

Parents matter the most in a child’s life.

Dear Parents,

The purpose of my coaching service for parents is to enhance your awareness of the critical role the parent-child relationship plays in your child’s overall development. As a parent, you may notice subtle (or not-so-subtle) changes in your child’s behavior that leave you feeling disconnected or concerned. These changes can stem from various influences and challenges your child faces, which may affect their emotional well-being, behavior, and connection with the family.

Ask yourself these questions to identify if your child might be facing challenges in their development: Is your child distanced from you and no longer interested in family activities? Does your child spend most of their time with friends, avoiding meaningful time at home? Is your child indifferent to your advice or dismissive of your guidance? Have you noticed increased aggression or defiance towards family members? Is your child bored or unmotivated at school, showing a lack of curiosity or drive? Does your child seem overly focused on gaining approval or fitting in with peers? Are they anxious or distressed when facing challenges in relationships or at school? Have they adopted behaviors, language, or habits that conflict with your family’s values?

If you answered “yes” to several of these questions, it might be time to explore the underlying factors influencing your child’s development and what you can do to support them.

When children face developmental challenges, they might:

  • Lose Emotional Security: They may rely on external validation, which can be inconsistent and unreliable.

  • Struggle with Maturity: They may find it hard to manage mixed feelings or make intentional choices.

  • Develop Risky Habits: External influences can lead to behaviors and decisions that conflict with their long-term well-being.

  • Distance Themselves from Parents: They may stop seeking your guidance and support, making them more vulnerable to external pressures.

How My Coaching Can Help
As a family coach, I focus on helping you strengthen your parent-child bond and rebuild the connection that fosters healthy growth. My approach includes:

  • Awareness: Helping you understand the different factors that can influence your child's development and behavior.

  • Self-Reflection: Guiding you to explore your relationship with yourself, as your self-esteem, communication, and behaviors profoundly affect your child.

  • Practical Tools: Teaching you how to meet your child’s emotional and developmental needs through consistent connection, compassion, and guidance.

  • Effective Communication: Showing you how to adopt a coaching mindset to foster open, judgment-free dialogue with your child.

Reclaim Your Role as a Parent
Many challenges in the parent-child relationship are reversible, and the solution starts with you. By deepening your connection with your child and meeting their emotional needs, you can help them rediscover their sense of security, curiosity, and independence. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier parent-child relationship that sets your child up for success.
